Safety & Badges

In order to guarantee a safe working environment, the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre imposes a number of safety rules that must be observed by everyone in the RAI building.

HEAT & COOKING

Exhibitors using heat for baking, roasting, frying & cooking and/or for demonstration purposes must file an 'Open Fire Application' with RAI no later than by 21 April and have an adequate fire extinguisher near the source of heat. The Open Fire Application form can be accessed from the web shop of RAI EXHIBITION SERVICES, under the 'Permits' section. Upon receipt of the permit application, RAI Safety will confirm which fire extinguishing equipment will be mandatory on the stand. RAI's web shop opened mid-March and requires an exhibitor login.

LIQUIDS

Exhibitors using open water or other liquids at their stand must request a permit from RAI in order to prevent legionnaires' disease. Please send your detailed request to es@rai.nl no later than by 21 April.

FREIGHT-FREE AISLES

For logistical and safety reasons it is essential that the designated freight-free aisles are kept clear at all times during build-up and breakdown. Exhibitors and/or stand builders blocking the freight-free aisles will be notified by RAI officials. Freight blocking the freight-free aisles will be moved by CEVA Logistics, at a charge of Euro 200,00 per cubic metre, with a minimum charge of Euro 600,00. All charges are payable onsite.

SAFETY SHOES

During build-up and breakdown, anyone working in the RAI exhibition halls must wear approved safety shoes. On Monday 18 May, safety shoes are not required but very much recommended. Safety shoes can be purchased from the RAI EXHIBITION SERVICES web shop (available as of mid-March, exhibitor login required) or at the RAI Access & Safety Centre near RAI Parking P6.

ACCESS & MINIMUM AGE

Access to the halls is limited to people of 16 years and older. No person will be granted access until he or she has watched a safety video and read the list of safety regulations. This can be done onsite but also in advance online, thus saving valuable time. Click here to consult the RAI Safety Homepage and view the Safety Video and Regulations.

BUILD-UP & BREAKDOWN PASSES

Build-up and breakdown passes are issued by RAI.
Registration for RAI build-up and breakdown passes can be made here.

INSPECTION

During build-up and breakdown as well as during show days, RAI's Safety Inspectors will be performing regular checks to make sure that exhibitors and contractors are in compliance with RAI's safety regulations. For any questions, please contact RAI's Safety Department at safety@rai.nl.
